Professional Background:

 

Dr. Myat Myat Mon graduated from the Institute of Medicine II in Yangon, Myanmar. She received all trainings in New York for General Surgery, Hand Surgery and Plastic Surgery. She received the employee of the month award during the training. 

She became the Fellow of American College of Surgeons in 2004. Dr. Mon believes in giving back to next generations, community and society and gets involved in mentoring, teaching not only in Medicine but also in advanced technologies and Education.

She has been a Board Member and Vice President of Cetana Educational Foundation, a team leader of NYC Medical Reserve Corps and a member of medical team for New York City marathon. She has mentored in computer classes for children at project houses and seniors at senior citizen centers. She also presents lectures in Women Health Symposium and Guidance for Residency. She has been a team leader in many Medical Missions.

She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY, an Attending Surgeon in Mt. Sinai Health System, a member of CME committee, International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgeons and American Association for Physician Leadership.

​

She is one of the founding members and the Seventh President of the Myanmar American Medical Education Society.
